CSPRO Academy proudly hosted the first-ever Easter Fun Games incorporating youth players, parents and other members of the community, embracing our philosophy of “Parent-Player-CSPRO” (PPC). The turnout was remarkable, with enthusiastic support from parents who showed up not only to cheer on their young athletes, but also show them how it’s done on the field of play! Among the attendees were Mr. Chiseva, a former student of Seke 1 High School and a proud father of Junior and Tawanda (CSPRO academy youngsters); Mr. and Mrs. Mutisi, supporting their son Tinotenda, a talented striker in the under 17 squad; and Mrs. Runzayi (mai Nene), cheering for her son Anotida (Nene). The event was also graced by the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Kamwamvura (baba Kante) and their son Sean, along with Mr. Nyatsanza (Wayne’s father) and former Caps United legend Simon Dambaza. Also not forgetting our own Sports Development Officer, Mr Sithole who graced the middle of the park showing some determination in the offensive zone!
The day kicked off with a thrilling curtain-raiser match between the CSPRO under 12s and under 14s, delighting the young players and their proud parents. The highlight of the day was the epic showdown between CSPRO Academy’s Under 18 team and the Parents’ team. Initially, the youngsters took the lead with a magnificent goal by Farisai Chihoro. However, the tide turned when CSPRO coaches joined the Parents’ side, leading to a stunning comeback with Coach Zengeni sealing the victory with a spectacular goal.
Coach Zee’s (CSPRO Academy fitness coach) fitness level was too much for the youngsters to handle, some data proves that he recorded the fastest sprint of the afternoon! Some say Mr Chiseva was the match of the match because of his team organizational qualities while others argue that Coach Zengeni was the main man since his strike evoked some yester year memories. Either way, the afternoon was full of joy and CSPRO Academy concluded that the man of match award belonged to everyone who attended the event. We hope to see parents continue to support their kids at every game, creating wonderful memories for our budding athletes.
But the excitement didn’t end there! Parents shared valuable suggestions for future events, envisioning even more fun with sound systems, jumping castles for little ones, and refreshments for all. This is the sort of input and devotedness we, at CSPRO Academy, are striving for. Together, we can create memorable experiences for our young players and families while promoting unity and camaraderie in our community.
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported the Easter Fun Games. Let’s continue to come together as one, fostering humor, oneness, and a brighter future for all. See you at the next event!
